5th September 2007 As the new season draws closer it is important to have a quick word about our hopes and aspirations for 2007/08. Firstly I would like to welcome our new signings for this season to Trimdon United and hope you will be very happy here with us in the near future. I would also like to wish Scott our keeper a speedy recovery after his broken wrist injury. Hopefully you’ll be match fit very soon. After the success of last season, Steve, Adam and Davey are convinced this is our year and we have a very strong chance of winning the league. However to win the league we need to remind ourselves that we all need to pull together and work as a team to support each other. This applies during bad times and good and when a team player makes a mistake we need to get behind them and offer encouragement not criticism and likewise when a team player does well praise them. To be a team we need to work well on and off the pitch and all pull together. I feel it is also important to remind ourselves of a few basic rules of conduct. Here at Trimdon United, bad behaviour in the form of foul language, bullying of disrespecting an adult whether coach, referee or parent will not be tolerated. Just remember without them there would not be a football team and the support of the parents is vital. In the past our team has been commented on how well our turn out is. So please remember your manners and if you are on the side lines do not cause a disruption, watch the game and be ready to play at all times. Although we respect your opinion please remember the referee and manager’s word is final. So on a lighter note, lets get this season started positively and I wish you all good luck and hope you enjoy every game. Just remember ‘who we are!!!’ I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the parents for their continued support of the club. To read the 2006/2007 newsletters click here. |
