11th October 2007 St Francis 2000 were our visitors in a rearranged fixture and both set of supporters were treated to a feast of football. In a fast flowing game with both sides passing the ball around, this game was going to be tight and action packed. It was also the come back of Scott our keeper after injury. Trimdon from the start put the pressure on and forced the St Francis keeper to make a number of good saves. All the lads were playing impressively and with some lovely team work from Luke and Sam they managed to set Callum Findlay up, who was waiting to finish off and bring us our first goal of the game. Well done to all three of you! Half time score 1-0. St Francis started strongly in the second half and gave the defence and Scott a work out. However the defence who have gelled well together held firm, especially lanky who was a close contender for man of the match. The central midfielders Kieran Storey and Ryan began to assert their authority on the game and it was Kieran Storey who threaded a superb ball through for Luke to score a pounding goal. Well done both lads! Hartlepool were far from dead and continued to battle but found it impossible to get past Scott who had a cracking first game. Final Score 2-0 and a win for Trimdon. This was a great performance and a professional display of football yet again. Every player on the park deserves a mention as nobody let Steve down. You were all outstanding and another win bagged. Well done to Luke Walton who was man of the match giving 100% yet again. We are certainly a force to be reckoned with so keep up the good work! Note to parents: Parents night out Saturday November 24th. Please let Steve know ASAP if you will be attending. This is also open to friends and family. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the continuing support. To read the 2006/2007 newsletters click here. |
