Trimdon United U13 V Middleton Rangers League match 2pm kick off
Remembrance Sunday and both teams form around the centre circle for a 1 minutes silence.

Trimdon kick off facing into a very strong wind and with the sun also in their face. Expectations of a decent win are high after being so unlucky the week previous against a decent Coulby side we were this week facing bottom of the league Middleton Rangers. The game started at a fast pace but with no real domination of the ball by either side, the first glimpse of a shot by Trimdon from a corner on 6 min came to nothing.

Excellent work from midfield through to Casper (Tom Summerbell) who shot hard but just wide on 12min. All the pressure was by now coming from Trimdon but all looking a bit scruffy with no flow to the game. A brief spell of great passing work between Luke Walton and Tom Lawson put Sam Noble through who then fired a hard shot on target only for the decent looking Middleton keeper to push out for a corner. Sam popped in a great corner on 20 min which again the keeper plucked out of the air well. Trimdon were well in command by now and when on 32 min, just before half time, Sam was racing forward at full speed he was scythed to the floor by the panicking Middleton defender. From the subsequent free kick up pops Sam again with a tremendous strike from 35 yards which battered the x bar and came back out – unlucky Sam who worked hard all game.
0-0 at half time – Trimdon dominating without reward.

Second half kicked off, again at a fast pace, with Casper making an excellent run which put Luke W through for a shot – just wide again. More strength and power from Sam forced the Keeper to make a decent save on 5min. Then suddenly and completely against the run of play, an end to end break from Middleton gave them a goal from their first real attack of the match.

Trimdon persevered, continuing to be the better team but not reaping the reward. After 15 min a super little run by Kieran Henderson ended with a decent shot just missing once again.
Two minutes later and things started to look a whole lot better when the powerhouse  Jonno Clemmett ghosted past a couple of defenders and powered the ball into the net.
Sam hammered in another free kick from 35 yards, saved again by the busy keeper.
On 22 min the sustained pressure paid off with Jonno again beating 2 men then rounding the keeper to score his second. The pressure was relentless from Trimdon and this paid off again on 29 min when Jonno grabbed his hat trick. Final whistle 3-1 to Trimdon.
It wasn’t pretty football just dogged hard work by the Trimdon lads to grind out a good win in the end. Imagine what the score would have been if the lads had been on top form??

Men of the match         Jonno Clemmett and Sam Noble
