Opening & Introductions

The regular meeting of the Joint Trimdons’ Regeneration Partnership was called to order at 6.30pm on Tuesday 1st April 2008 in Trimdon Colliery Community Centre by Peter Brookes (Chair).

Minutes of Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed as a true and accurate record.

Matters Arising

 

5.1

Scarman Trust

Paperwork was not submitted within the given timescale and therefore £4,000 funding was unable to be claimed.

 

 

5.2

Sedgefield Partnership

Nothing further to add – waiting for Adam Richardson to take proposal for Joint Regeneration Officer forward.

 

 

5.3

Trimdon Health Centre

No activity as yet regarding demolition. Peter Brookes to contact David Gallagher.

Gateways

No further funding available for the final gateway at Trimdon Station. This is be pursued with the new unitary authority

Youth Worker Course

List of interested parties co-ordinated and to be passed to Dawn Kelly at Trimdon House.

EDF Funding

One off payment of £10,000 available. Pamela Duddin has made contact regarding Trimdon Grange Play Park and is awaiting a response.  Margaret has also made contact regarding the play day at Trimdon Grange.  It is essential that ideas for further funding initiatives are explored to ensure that this money is not lost.

There are to be further monies made available in future years of £5,200pa.  This could be used to fund further projects that have previously been discussed e.g. for a ground source heat pump or money to enable the Thursday night club to have transport to get to and from events. Lucy Hovvels to see if there is any funding available for this.

NB EDF Funding is available for The Trimdons’ and also Town Kelloe.

Corporation tax records have been transferred from Sunderland to the Bristol and N Somerset Area.

Opportunity to learn how to put together professional bids.  Les Oliver to see if Dawn Kelly would like to attend.

Any Other Business

Special Meeting of the Joint Trimdons’ Regeneration Partnership to look at evaluating what projects to support, where to look to fund them from and what priority they have in the Trimdons’.

Meeting to be held on 20th May 2008 from 6.00pm to 8.30pm at Trimdon Colliery Community Centre.

Accounts audited by Les Oliver – Reporting period to be included in future accounts. Les to adjust current accounts to reflect accounting period.

Village Events

Louise Anderson reported that both Donna Thompson and Karl Hanson from the PCT would both like to come and talk to the Joint Trimdons’ Regeneration Partnership regarding health and healthy eating issues. Donna to be invited to next meeting and Karl to the meeting after.

The Classic Car Rally will be held at Trimdon Community College on 11th July 2008, following a very successful event last year.

St. Mary Magdalene’s Day will be held the weekend of 18th, 19th, 20th July, with a fete on the green being held on the 19th.  Su Jordan to contact Leslie Tate with a view to Trimdons’ Joint Regeneration Partnership jointing in the activities.

National Play Day will be 2nd August 2008 held at Trimdon Grange but open to all.

Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th Kate Close, Community Warden will be security marking any bikes.

Possibility of a puppy training course coming up in June at Trimdon Grange.
