TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS NEWSLETTER 13
1st March 2007

Our match against Barnard Castle should have been an easy ride especially as they are having a bad stint. This had the potential to be an easy three points for Trimdon.

Trimdon started off slow as to be expected and we found ourselves under pressure from Barnard Castle more or less immediately. The ever versatile Kieran Storey playing in goal was called upon to make save after save just to keep us in the game. Well done to Kieran Storey. However due to a mistake from the Barny keeper we managed to take the lead with a shot from Sam Noble that proved to be too hot to handle and landed in the net. Well done Sam! This seemed to awaken us and we began to fight back however we never really threatened Barny’s goal. It just wasn’t coming together.

The second half started out bad with us conceding a suspect penalty (it was that dodgy Ref we’ve had before!!) We then let in another goal to leave us 2-1 down. We carried on fighting but we were never able to put a move together and with a much stretched defence Barny scored again. The final score 3-1.

I’m not sure exactly what went wrong today and why we couldn’t gel like we normally do. However we need to consider it a lesson learnt and the bad performance is now behind us. We need to get back in business and perform to our usual professional standards. We have nearly reached the end of the season and it is vital we find our form again. We can’t afford to loose no more matches, so chin up lads, you can do it if you communicate and work as a team. Man of the match went to Jonno and Ryan for their efforts, so well done lads.

Our next match on Sunday is away at Whinny Banks will you all please meet at Trimdon Community College for 09.45 am prompt. Kick off 11.00 am.

Once again a big thank you to all the parents and Girty for the entertainment value over the comedy nets incident!! (You all know who you are!!) But hey didn’t they hold up fantastic!! We would also like to wish Vinnie well and hope he is fully recovered after his injury during the match and also thank you to Dr Guy.
