TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS NEWSLETTER 14
8th March 2007

Our game against Whinny Banks was supposed to be a home fixture but yet again our pitch was ruled unsuitable, so in order for the game to go ahead we played at Whinney Banks. Whinney Banks are having a tough season so this could only add to our favour especially as two of our key players Vinnie and Jack Fannan were out due to injury.
Trimdon are notorious slow starters so we were all taken a back when literally just after the whistle was blown Sam opened the scoring. This was just the beginning and after only fifteen minutes into the game we were 4-0 ahead and pressing hard for another. This soon came and at half time the score 5-0 to us.
The second half saw us carry on where we left off and five more goals came our way with the help of an own from a Whinney defender. This was an exciting game with our forwards Luke and Sam on top form and both achieving goals with Sam claiming a hatrick and also setting up more goals well done Sam! The midfield were certainly not going to be out done and Jonno, Callum Findlay, Ryan and Casper all added to the total with Hendo contributing two goals .Well done lads.
This was an action packed game played at high tempo with little to do for the defence and at one point, Danny in defence, pushed forward and had a shot at goal though it went wide. Any shots at our goal were dealt with by Bradders and his oversized trousers!! With so many goals it’s impossible to mention each one individually. Though they were all expertly taken, Sam’s delicate chip and Jonno’s power header, (first of the season for scoring using a header) were definitely best of the bunch. Scatty had an exceptional game and was a close contender for man of the match. However this was awarded to Luke yet again for his sheer determination. Well done Luke!
Credit needs to be given to Whinney Banks who never gave up however on the day we were just too good for them and we were certainly the better team. All the lads played to an exceptionally high standard and did what was asked, because of this we walked away with not only three points but also a big leap towards our goal difference. Credit due to you all.

Our next match is at home (we hope!!!) against Grange Town. Kick off 11.00 am so players please meet at Trimdon Community College for 10.15 am prompt. Thanks again to the travelling parents and we recognise that we are well supported by our parents and always achieve a good turn out. This all adds to morale. It’s very much appreciated.
