TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS NEWSLETTER 15
16th March 2007

Our match against middle of the league Grange Town was set to be an exciting game especially as both teams are now fighting for points.
Right from the kick off with the wind at our backs, Trimdon had the upper hand putting the Grange Town defence under a lot of pressure. The first goal came from a ‘Sam’ corner, helped by the wind it curled and went into the back of the net, it was a corker. Well done Sam! The next goal came from Callum who was looking dangerous and well rewarded. Well done Callum. Ryan then decided it was his turn and chipped it in for number three. Well done Ryan. Half time score 3-0.

With the wind in our faces and the half time talk we expected a Grange Town onslaught however this never came. The defence remained solid and on the one time we were caught out the ever alert Bradders came to the rescue with a 30 yard run to make a goal saving tackle. Grange Town then got a penalty and there was nothing Kieran Storey could do to stop it however it was nice to see good sportsmanship from Lanky in the form of a gentle pat on the back to Kieran Storey. After the Grange Town goal instead of Trimdon folding we went on to score again with Ryan claiming his second. Well done Ryan! Our last but certainly not least goal came from Tom who took the ball forty yards down the pitch and chipped it in. Well done Tom! The Final score 5-1.

Yet again this was another amazing display of quality football. You all performed from Kieran Storey in goal right through the ranks to the subs that came on.  The defence was solid with Danny having a cracking game. The midfield played inventive and the forwards sharp and ready to go. It is good to see Vinnie and Fannan back from injury and well recovered. We certainly gave Grange Town a torrid time! Well done to all of you.

Man of the match yet again went to the ever reliable and energetic Luke who at one point seemed to be everyman on the pitch. Well done Luke for all your work!

Our next match sees us in a friendly 11.00 am kick off so can all players be at Trimdon Community College for 10.00 am prompt. Keep up the good performance and we’ll be rewarded. Big thanks to the parents for the continuing support.
