Trimdon Foundry Parish Council
Meetings held at
Trimdon Station Community Centre,
Any members of the public are welcome to come along

Meeting held July 20th 2005

General Business

1/
Cllr Nicolls was not present but sent a report;
The traffic speed indicator will go on to the County Council list for use in Deaf Hill.

2/ Schools in the near future will stay open until 6pm for extra activities.
Resolved:  this report be accepted.

3/ The Police were asked if the Warden Liaison officer was aware of the parking problems at Milbury Care Services, RivenDell, St. Aidan’s Terrace, about illegal parking and has he informed them?
Sgt. Dickenson informed members that he had been to warn the Staff that as from June 2005 parking tickets will be issued to anyone that is illegally parked.
A member asked if it would be possible for The Parish Council to carry out wheel clamping - Sgt. Donnelly was not sure on this but would make enquiries
Resolved:  this report be accepted .

4/ We received a letter asking for our support in the campaign regarding the local bus services
Arriva are proposing to take some services off the road, which means a lot of people won’t be able to get to several popular destinations easily.
Everyone was in favour of  adding our support, and we are behind the campaign all the way

5/ On Monday some one rammed the Play area gates and broke the hinges.
It was decided to have CCTV Cameras installed to monitor the area.
It is just mindless yobs who just can’t respect what we are trying to do to make our village a pleasant place to live.

Play Area Update
The children’s play ground is soon to be opened, but we need some parents to volunteer to supervise their children. A key will be given to a parent to open the Play Area, so that they can take turns and pass the key around to another parent so that it will always be open during the day.
If anyone is interested please contact the Parish Council.
All children should be accompanied at all times by responsible adult
