Meeting held April 19th 2006
The meeting on April 19th concerned mainly changeover matters for the new Parish Clerk as detailed below, hence there is no new public information for this meeting.

Parish Clerk
Our Parish Clerk Mr R.H.GOTT is retiring at the end of April 2006
A special meeting was held on February 28th to interview applicants for the post of Parish Clerk.

His successor will be:

Ms Tweddle will be the new contact for information commencing end of April 2006
We invited her along to this months meeting to welcome her on board

Pit Banner
A Miners Banner Sub committee has been set up to organise a replacement banner. The old one is now too fragile to be taken out of its case.

Play Equipment
Libby Morris of Ground Work East Durham was present to to report in detail the new play equipment that is to be installed at the recreation field .This work will begin early in the new financial year.

Bus Passes
District Cllr Joan Freak informed us that the free Bus passes will be able to be used County wide, and anyone 60yrs and over will be informed and will be able to get them at the Community Centre .

Anti-social Behaviour
We have been invited to attend a meeting with Wheatly Hill and Thornley Parish councils to solve the problem of Antisocial Behaviour. The Police were present and reported that in the last month there had been 15 incidents, including 2 burglaries, 5 criminal offences and various incidents with cars, youths causing damage, breaking windows, throwing eggs at old peoples windows, and domestic violence.
